LB Jordan Hicks OUT Indefinitely; Vikings sign LB Anthony Barr
FORMER VIKING ANTHONY BARR SIGNS 1-YEAR DEAL WITH MINNESOTA.
EAGAN, Minn. (KVRR) —Reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Minnesota Vikings have signed LB Anthony Barr to their practice squad on a 1-year deal. Barr played eight seasons with the Vikings from 2014-21 and was a pro bowler four times during that span. Barr last played with the Dallas Cowboys in 2022 where he played 14 games, starting 10.
This move comes after head coach Kevin O’Connell said Monday that LB Jordan Hicks had a procedure done on his shin following Minnesota’s 27-19 win Sunday over New Orleans. Hicks left the game in the first half before returning, then exiting again. O’Connell said that Hicks underwent a procedure on his shin that can be characterized as compartment syndrome due to a bruised shin. Hicks is second on the Vikings this season with 50 tackles. O’Connell did not give a time frame that Hicks will return. He only confirmed his absence for Sunday vs. Denver.
Barr can be activated form the practice squad at any point up until 90 minutes to game time.
Minnesota travels to Denver next Sunday to take on the Broncos on Sunday Night Football. Kickoff set for 7:20 p.m.
