Sen. John Hoeven in Israel on Hamas: “We’ve got to defeat these terrorists”

TEL AVIV (KVRR) — Sen. John Hoeven traveled to Israel this past weekend to show support for the country that is in the middle of a war against the militant group Hamas.

Hoeven and a bipartisan congressional group traveled to Tel Aviv.

The group flew over to show their support for Israel, a strong U.S. ally that is battling recent terrorist attacks from Hamas.

The group met with Israel’s prime minister and families of Israelis who have been taken hostage by the militants.

“This has been a terrible attack by Hamas. Israel is now working to defeat Hamas they must do that and we need to help and of course that’s why we’re here this is what it’s all about but this is just vitally important not just for Israel but for the United States, for the world, we’ve got to defeat these terrorists,” said Hoeven.

The senators in the group presented Israel’s Prime Minister with a signed copy of a Senate resolution in support of Israel that passed unanimously last month.
