NDSU Embracing Role as Road Warriors

NDSU FOOTBALL WILL TAKE ON MONTANA STATE SATURDAY IN ROUND 2 OF THE FCS PLAYOFFS

FARGO, N.D, — The last time the Bison had a road playoff game this early in the post season was in 2010 when they visited the Montana State Bobcats in Bozeman, 13 years later, the Bison travel back to Bobcat Stadium this Saturday. The Bison are just 2-2 on the road this season with losses coming against North Dakota and South Dakota State. The Cats’ homefield advantage is among the best in the country, having won 26 straight games at home. While the prospect of 20,000 plus fans cheering for the Bobcats may seem intimidating for some teams, the Bison have embraced their role as road warriors and are taking on an us against the world mentality for their playoff run.

“You go into that game and you’re thinking, 20 thousand fans, it’s us against the world. And with the team comradery that we have, and the brotherhood, we’re not gonna let that stop us. We’re going to go in there and do what we got to do,” said offensive weapon, Raja Nelson.

“Being able to have that chip on your shoulder, you know it just adds a little bit of edge. Everybody hears the talk and internet chatter, people talking about online and stuff like that and saying we’re not as good as we used to be, we like that. We embrace that and we use it as fuel for our next opponents,” said defensive tackle, Javier Derritt.
