And Then There Were 3 for Minnesota’s New State Flag

ST. PAUL (KVRR/FOX9) — Out of 2,600 Minnesota state flag designs, these are the three finalists.

The State Emblems Redesign Commission met in St. Paul on Tuesday and spent much of the evening trying to narrow down the top six designs to three.

The commission heard presentations from all six designers or artists, each with a personal story to share.

The chairs of the commission admitted they thought the meeting would be a little bit easier and that it’s no easy feat finding a state seal and flag all of Minnesota can agree on.

The commission is tasked with adopting a new state flag and seal by January 1.

The legislature will have the final say.
