Dozens of people stranded on Upper Red Lake in Beltrami County

BELTRAMI COUNTY, Minn. (KVRR) — Emergency responders work to get dozens of people stranded on the ice in Beltrami County.
About 40 to 50 people are stuck on Upper Red Lake after ice broke away from the shore.
Around 7:20 this evening, authorities in Beltrami County say responders are working to get everyone safely back to shore.
They say strong winds caused the ice to shift.
People are reminded to check with Minnesota DNR for recommended ice thickness.
