FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – Here in the metro area, many limbs and branches of trees have littered the roadways. Fargo Public Works has been working on the issue since yesterday.

Thankfully with the low amount of snow we’ve had the clean-up efforts haven’t been too difficult. But, the icy road conditions do pose a problem.

As we’ve seen numerous reports of power lines being impacted by the freezing rain and wind in the region.

“The street department has been out all night,” said Scott Liudahl, the city forester. “And still right now they are. Dealing with debris in the street. Our initial response is we take care of anything that is blocking the street or the motor vehicle travel and the sidewalks if need be. Or if somebody can’t get out of their driveway. Those are our initial ones. Most of those we’ll respond to them.”

You can take your brush to the landfill free of charge. In Moorhead, crews will pick up tree branches and debris curbside over the next several weeks on scheduled recycling days.
