Feed My Starving Children attempts to pack 10 million meals for children in need
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR)- The Feed My Starving Children FargoPack plans to make 10 million meals for starving children all over the world, but they need your help to reach that number.
Amy Okeson, Executive Director of FargoPack Feed My Starving Children, said, “It’s going to take over 50,000 volunteers, we’re a little over half way there for now but we need you to help. Come Join us for 2 hour packing shifts. We say it’s the most fun you going to have in a hairnet, and you can sign up to do that at FargoPack.org.”
All these bags and boxes are the result of 44 trucks, bringing all these bags filled with rice, soy, vitamins, and vegetables to help make meals for 10 million kids across the world. All the ingredients used are grown in the US, and some are grown locally.
Okeson also said, ““We say rice, soy, vitamins, and veggies. And the soy is produced right here in the Midwest is sourced from the Midwest. The rice comes from the US, largely the south and southeast US.”
FargoPack is a local branch of Feed My Starving children and is attempting a record number of meals to giveaway. Okeson said, “We work together to feed kids hunger and body and spirit till all are fed. We do that by packing meals for hungry kids around the world that are distributed in 90 countries.”
Packing the meals will be done at the FargoDome from the 5th of January to the 15th. Anyone 5 and older can volunteer. You can register online at www.fargopack.org .
