MSUM men’s basketball team ranked #1 for first time

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) – The Minnesota State University Moorhead Men’s Basketball team has moved up to the number one spot in the latest NABS poll for the first time in program history.

The Dragons had been number two in the polls each of the last three weeks. Before this season the highest the Dragon had ever climbed in the polls was number three in the 2014-2015 season.

With 14 wins, the undefeated Dragons are approaching more milestones fast.

The 1970-71 team holds the record for consecutive wins to start the season at 15 while the 2015-16 team holds the record for consecutive wins at 16.

The Dragons return to their home floor this week hosting Southwest Minnesota State on Friday at 5:30 p.m. and will host Sioux Falls Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
