Unattended candle likely the cause of the fatal house fire in St. Paul

St Paul Fire

ST. PAUL, Minn. (KVRR/FOX 9) — According to St. Paul fire officials, an unattended candle is likely the cause of the January 3 fire that killed four children in St. Paul.

A one-year-old boy died from his injuries at the hospital on Saturday.

The child was one of seven people rescued from the house, a mom and six kids.

The fire started when the father was at work.

He says his 5-year-old twin daughters and a 4-year-old son had died earlier.

A press conference is set for Saturday morning to provide more information on the incident.

A GoFundMe set up for the family has raised more than $460,000.
