Fargo School Board members to consider 50% pay raise

FARGO (KVRR) – Members of the Fargo School Board will consider giving themselves a 50% pay raise during their next meeting on Tuesday, January 23.

Board members currently earn $1,000 per month. They will discuss a Planning Committee recommendation to increase their pay to $1,500 per month.

The board president would be paid an additional $50.00 per month.

The last time board members approved a raise for themselves was in 2009, when their salary rose from $750 per month to the current $1,000 per month.

According to board documents, the Consumer Price Index rose approximately 45% between 2009 to 2023.

If approved, the board’s pay raise will take effect July 1.
