Lego Robot tournament hosted at NDSU
FARGO, N.D., (KVRR)- NDSU hosted a Lego robotics competition for middle schoolers. The First Lego League tournament was hosted at the university on Saturday.
17 teams of kids in grades 4 through 8 came to show off their building, engineering, and coding skills in the competition.
It was the first LEGO League Regional Qualifier Tournament hosted by the NDSU College of Engineering.
This challenge is done to give problem solving skills for the kids and give a baseline coding knowledge to help them for the future. Angela Gross, K-12 Outreach Coordinator of the College of Engineering at NDSU, said, “It just gives them that base level.”
Gross also said, “It takes away and demystifies what coding is so that they can just expand from that.”
Many big name companies sponsored the event, like John Deere, Bobcat, and more.
