One Person Hospitalized After Fargo Apartment Fire

FARGO (KFGO/KVRR) – Fargo firefighters were called to the Chestnut Ridge Apartments at 3161 32nd Street South in Fargo shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday on a fire report.
The first unit arriving on the scene saw smoke coming from a first-floor apartment and entered the unit and were able to confine the fire to a bedroom. The second fire unit found a victim inside and rescued her from the apartment. She was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. Her condition is not known.
Heavy fire damage was confined to the apartment bedroom. There was heat and smoke damage throughout the unit. The remainder of the building had some smoke and soot staining but no permanent damage.
Other residents were temporarily evacuated while crews removed smoke and fire gases from the building.
Damage is estimated at $75,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
