Former Bison Bobby Babich Hired as Buffalo Bills Defensive Coordinator

BABICH PLAYED AT NDSU IN THE EARLY 2000'S AND HIS FATHER COACHED THE BISON FROM 1997-2002.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (KVRR)– The Buffalo Bills have hired Bobby Babich to be their next Defensive Coordinator, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

 

Babich played for the North Dakota State Bison as a cornerback from 2002-05. His previous coaching stops include:

  • Kent State
  • Eastern Illinois
  • Carolina Panthers
  • Cleveland Browns
  • FIU
  • Buffalo Bills

Bobby Babich is the son of Bob Babich, a former head coach of the North Dakota State Bison from 1997-2002. Bob also coached alongside Bobby in Buffalo before retiring in 2022.

 

Babich joined the Bills staff in In 2017, joining his father Bob under Sean McDermott as the team’s assistant defensive backs coach. In 2018 he was promoted to the team’s safeties coach. In 2022, he was promoted to linebackers coach after his father retired.

 

Babich’s hire comes after being requested to interview for the Defensive Coordinator openings with the New York Giants, Green Bay Packers and Miami Dolphins.
