Prom shop to open at Sheyenne High with free suits and dresses

WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – Over the years, prom dresses and suits have gotten more and more expensive. Well one school in West Fargo is hosting a prom shop to help make the important high school date more accessible for students.

This will be at Sheyenne High School where over 300 dresses and suits will be available for students to pick from for free. This is open for students from Fargo, West Fargo and Moorhead school districts.

“It’s the big high school moment,” said Kim Zeimer, a counseling admin assistant. “You remember going to prom forever and so the counseling office is hoping to eliminate that financial burden for all students in the metro. Even if you can afford a prom dress. You are spending almost $1,000 on a dress you are going to wear for one night. So we encourage everybody to come and shop and take a dress for free.”

The shop will be open on Saturday from 2-4 pm with another date set for March 10 in the Sheyenne High School Commons.
