6th Annual Fargo Hotdish Festival hosted at Brewhalla
FARGO, N.D., (KVRR) — We live in the Midwest and what better way to spend a Sunday than by enjoying some hotdish.
Brewhalla hosted the annual Fargo Hotdish Festival that brings many area restaurants together to compete.
The 6th annual Hotdish Festival sponsored by Drekker is hosted at Brewhalla.
It’s a chance for people taste test all 14 hotdishes entered into the competition.
But that’s not all, there’s even a Kuchen eating contest.
But it’s not your mom’s hotdish you’re used to. Local restaurants around the metro stepped up to see who could create the winning dish.
Carly Montplaisir, Brewhalla Event Director, “Well, it’s a lot of local restaurants, some of them new this year, some veterans of this event. Last year’s winner, Marge’s Diner is coming today. Some new people like Tati’s so we are excited to see the different variety of food that’s going to be served today.”
Organizers say this festival helps people get out of the house in the winter and celebrate the midwest.
Montplaisir said, “Events in the winter here are hard. This year is kind of a fluke because it’s so nice. But it’s just a reason to get people out of the house. We love celebrating the midwest and what better way to do it then Hotdish. ”
Last year’s people’s choice winner Marge’s Diner is back and they say the competition is a lot of fun.
Dan Hurder, Owner of Marge’s Diner, said, “Yeah, honestly it’s just a fun competition. It brings a lot of restaurants together which we don’t get to do very often. Everybody works hard and its hard to get away from the store so this a fun group of people to compete against, and a lot of really fun ideas, a lot of interesting hotdishes that are put together”
