Sheyenne High School hosts free prom shop

WEST FARGO, N.D., (KVRR)-
Prom is expensive and this school is helping cut the costs for students. Sheyenne High School hosted a free prom shop on Saturday.
Students from Fargo, West Fargo, and Moorhead school districts were allowed to come and get prom items for free.
Items like suit jackets, pants, dresses, shoes, jewelry, and even corsages were available for free.
Prom has rose in cost recently and Sheyenne wants to give kids the chance to go, even if they can’t afford it. Kim Ziemer, Counseling Admin Assistant at Sheyenne High, said, “Prom in the last 5 to 10 years has grown, the cost of it has grown astronomically.”
Ziemer also said, “So our goal with this is to bridge the gap of affordability with prom that way that way if somebody wants to go but can’t afford it, now they have to option to go to prom if they choose.”
Prom is a core memory for students and Sheyenne wants everyone to have the chance to go.
