Below Zero Wrestling puts on a show with Winter Slam
WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – The Butler Arena in West Fargo was packed with wrestling fans, as Below Zero Wrestling held their Winter Slam event. Former WWE wrestlers Maven and John Morrison were part of the show, that drew hundreds of people.
The crowd was excited throughout the night, cheering on the heroes and booing the villains.
Maven, who is an ambassador for professional wrestling, has been able to reconnect with the audience through his YouTube channel and go to these independent shows.
“I’m never going to be able to lace them up again. I’m never going to be able to compete at that level. But I still want to be a part of this business,” said Maven. “I want to be a part of the positivity that wrestling can bring. I love the idea of being an ambassador. Like I say on my channel. Even if I can have a small role of just putting a smile on someone’s face or maybe educating them about something that they didn’t know about the business. I take a lot of pride in knowing. I’m actually going to use that term ambassador, I like that. If moving forward, if that’s how I can be seen as a small ambassador I will take it.”
Nick Stokke and the BZW crew now prepare for their next show in the Midwest.
