GBB: Northern Cass Wins Class A, Region 1 Tournament

JAGUARS HEAD TO THE STATE TOURNAMENT FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2005; FOURTH TIME IN PROGRAM HISTORY.

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR)–It was not an easy road for the Northern Cass Jaguars to win the Class A, Region 1 tournament. As the 4-seed, the Jaguars beat their rival, 5-seed Central Cass, 63-40 in the quarterfinals. The Jaguars followed that up with a 67-61 victory of the 1-seed in the region, Kindred in the semifinals — Haidyn Crockett scored a game-high 39 points in the win. To finish out the tournament, Northern Cass beat the 2-seed, Valley City, 47-36 to win Region 1 and advance to the State Tournament for the first time since 2005. The appearance will be their fourth in program history.

Valley City and the 3rd place winner, Kindred, will play State Qualifier games on Saturday, February 24.

The Class A State Tournament begins Thursday, February 29th at the Minot State Dome.
