North Dakota State Hockey Tournament Quarterfinals Highlights and Scores
Four Teams Remain in the North Dakota Boys and Girls State Hockey Tournaments
FARGO, N.D. — The North Dakota High School State Hockey Champions will be crowned Saturday. Eight teams came into each bracket and four teams now remaining heading into Friday’s semifinals.
In the girls tournament, 8-seeded Bismarck Century upset West Fargo United with a 3-1 win in the 11 AM game to start things off. Next the GFCC/GFRR Knightriders defeated the Davies Eagles 4-1. Fargo North/South got off to a hot start and hung on to defeat Devils Lake 5-3. In the final girls game of the night Mandan beat Bismarck High/Legacy 5-3.
In the boy’s tournament, Fargo South upset the No. 1 seed out of the west, Dickinson with the 3-1 win. Grand Forks Red River fell into a 2-0 hole early versus Bismarck Century but the Roughriders came roaring game, netting five consecutive goal to win 5-2. Grand Forks showed why they are the No. 1 seed from the East with a dominant 7-0 win over Bismarck Legacy.
In the final game of the night, Minot defeated Fargo North 5-2.
