Cass County Sheriff issues warning about jury duty scam

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office has issued an alert about another scam in the Fargo-Moorhead area

FARGO (KFGO/KVRR) – The Cass County Sheriff’s Office has issued an alert about another scam in the Fargo-Moorhead area.

Caller ID indicates that the calls are coming from 701-253-0994.

The scammer claims there’s a warrant for failure to appear for jury duty. Those receiving the calls are told to bring $3,000 to one of several local businesses to have them transfer the money. They also text a copy of a fake warrant with the person’s name.

The sheriff’s dept. says so far, it is not aware that anyone has fallen for the scam.
