Investigation underway into the death of a Rothsay child

ROTHSAY, Minn. (KVRR) – The Wilkin County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a seven-year-old child from Rothsay has died and an investigation is underway. On Wednesday, emergency crews from Rothsay Rescue responded to a call for an unresponsive child in the 100 Block of 2nd Ave. NW close to 3 p.m.

The child was taken to the Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls where they were pronounced dead. The investigation is pending the autopsy results at the Mid West Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting in the case.
