Police Arrest Man After Chase Following Traffic Stop

FARGO, N.D. (KFGO/KVRR) – A West Fargo man is in jail, facing many charges after he fled a Fargo police officer.

It began when the officer stopped to check on the driver of a car who had stopped in the middle of the road near 11th Street and 26th Avenue South. The driver drove off and ran a stop sign. When the officer attempted to make a traffic stop, the driver drove into oncoming traffic.

A short time later, officers spotted the car that was parked. The driver fled on foot from officers and tried to hide under a vehicle. Once in custody, he identified as 27-year-old Deionte Prescott.

Prescott was arrested on two outstanding warrants from West Fargo for Driving Under Suspension and Reckless Driving, in addition to Fleeing a Peace Officer in a Vehicle, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Refusal to Halt, Reckless Driving, and Driving under Revocation.
