FARGO, N.D. (KVRR/KFGO: 8:20pm Update) — Two people are in custody after officers went looking for a fugitive.

They arrested 39-year-old Joshua Steckroat for preventing arrest, warrants for probation violation, fleeing, and failure to pay child support.

They also arrested 35-year-old Rebecca Wilkin on an outstanding warrant for marijuana possession.

Metro Street Crimes Unit showed up at this duplex in south Fargo around 1:30 when they learned Steckroat had been living in the garage.

They forced their way into the garage and found Wilkin.

A K9 was brought in but could not get Steckroat out because he had barricaded himself in the rafters.

Police pepper sprayed him, and were able to get him out.

He was taken to a local hospital to be evaluated, and then taken to the Cass County Jail.

Officers cleared the neighborhood by about 4:30.
