DETROIT (KVRR)–Amid speculation that the Minnesota Vikings could trade up for a Quarterback, they did. However, it was not a huge jump. The Vikings traded their 11th overall pick, a 4th-round pick and a 5th-round pick to the New York Jets in exchange for the 10th overall pick and pick No. 203.

The Vikings used the No. 10 overall pick to select Quarterback J.J. McCarthy from the University of Michigan.

McCarthy recently won the 2023-24 National Championship with the Michigan Wolverines. He had an overall record of 27-1 in his career at Michigan (.964 win percentage).

This past season, McCarthy passed for 2,991 yards, 22 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.

The Vikings still own the 23rd overall pick in the Draft.
