Forum held to meet the candidates running for West Fargo City Commission

WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — League of Women Voters of the Red River Valley hold a candidate forum for a chance to meet and talk with the people running for West Fargo City Commission.

There are two open seats to fill on the commission. Mandy George and Mark Simmons are leaving.

Five people are in the running. The candidates are Tyler Erickson, Rory Jorgensen, John Severson, Amy Zundel, and DeAnn Reed.

Severson says, “I think this city needs to have its books laid out open so that the citizens are well-aware and can tell exactly what is going on within the city.”

Zundel says she’s running, “because I found myself saying, over and over again, I just wish somebody would do something about this and whenever I catch myself saying that a lot, I ask myself if I can be that person.”

“What I’m hearing from the citizens is mostly, look, we’re at a place we just can take any more property taxes. We can’t take anymore specials and so I’m running just because of those two issues,” says Reed.

If you couldn’t make it to the forum, you can watch the event on the City of West Fargo and League of Women Voters of the Red River Valley YouTube channels

The election is June 11th.
