NDSU men’s track and field win 14th consecutive conference outdoor team title

ST. PAUL (NDSU/KVRR) – The North Dakota State men’s track & field team won its 14th consecutive outdoor conference title on the final day of the Summit League Outdoor Championships Saturday.
The Bison men have now won 15 of the 16 outdoor team trophies since joining The Summit League in 2008.
The NDSU men finished with 190 points in the team standings, holding off South Dakota through a furious finish over the final three events of the meet. The Coyotes finished second with 175 points, and South Dakota State was third with 158.
Khamarly Holmes, Cullen Curl, Isaac Huntington and Carter Elde brought home the 4x400m relay crown in 3:11.68 and sealed the team title for the Bison men in the final event.
Elde won the 400m hurdles in a personal-best 52.75. Holmes ran 52.96 as the runner-up, giving the Bison men a 1-2 finish and 18 crucial team points in the 400m hurdles.
NDSU senior thrower Cam Landis was named the Outdoor Championships Field MVP. He won his second event of the meet on Saturday, capturing the discus title with a career-best throw of 173-2 (52.78m) to stand at No. 9 on the NDSU all-time list.
Freshman Ethan Moe broke the Summit League meet record in the 1500m, winning in 3:45.65. Fellow freshman Quinn Roehl placed fifth in 3:48.75.
NDSU’s Brock Johnsen ran a personal-best 14.08 to be the runner-up in the 110m hurdles, ranking sixth-fastest in school history. Freshman Trey Heinrich was fourth in a PR 14.23 to become eighth-fastest in NDSU history. Logan Mathieu took fifth in a PR 14.31.
Mthieu, Jayden Williams, Jayden Murdock and Michael Haugo ran the seventh-fastest 4x100m relay in school history, taking fourth place in 40.63. It was the fastest Bison 4x100m since 2005.
Koate Deebom posted a personal-best of 48-04.00 (14.73m) in the triple jump for fourth place, and freshman Carlton Mukurazita claimed fifth for the Bison. Mukurazita climbed two places on his sixth and final attempt, swinging the team race in NDSU’s favor.
Jacob Van Dusseldorp cleared a new personal-best 17-00.00 (5.18m) in the pole vault to place fifth, becoming only the fourth man in NDSU outdoor history to top 17 feet. Jarod White placed sixth for NDSU.
Jake Arason finished sixth in the 5,000m, bringing home three key team points for the Bison late in the meet.
Freshman Gabe Miles broke through with a huge personal-best of 48.36 in the 400m dash final, taking sixth place.
