JDRF walk raises over $50,000 dollars for diabetes research

WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – The Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund raised over $50,000 dollars at their Community One Walk Saturday.

The Walk was held at the Rustad Recreation Center in West Fargo, and featured opportunities for children to play, and for families to learn about new technologies for diabetes treatment.

JDRF Local Advocate Danika Johnson said that the walk has helped give her a sense of hope that a cure for type 1 diabetes can be found.

“Every single year that we do a walk there’s been so many new things that we learn; that we’re exposed to. It makes me a lot more hopeful that down the road something could come close to a cure.”

The money raised at the walk supports research into potentially life-changing breakthroughs for diabetes treatment.
