MOORHEAD (CONCORDIA Athletics/KVRR) – Concordia first-year athlete Genevieve Gruba (Enderlin, N.D.) earned USTFCCCA North All-Region honors for finishing in the Top 5 of the teams in the North Region in an event during the outdoor season.

Gruba becomes the first Cobber athlete to earn outdoor All-Region honors since Josie Herrmann, Cayle Hovland and Peyton Selle achieved the feat in 2021.

Gruba grabbed her All-Region award by virtue of her performance at the Drake Relays on Apr. 24. Gruba, who also plays for the Cobber women’s basketball program, came through with a distance of 131-11 during the meet. That mark was a personal best and the sixth farthest in program history.

Gruba went on to capture the championship in the javelin at the MIAC Championship Meet. Her conference-winning distance was 130-07 which was four feet farther than the runner-up in the event.

Gruba competed in seven meets during the outdoor season and posted a mark of over 120 feet in six of those seven competitions.
