Feds to announce new initiative to confront violent crime in Fargo

(FARGO) – Federal prosecutors will hold a news conference next week to announce a new federal program “to confront violent crime in Fargo.”

U.S. Attorney Mac Schneider says the Strategic Assistance for Fargo through Federal Enforcement and Resources (S.A.F.F.E.R.) initiative “is aimed at assisting local law enforcement in confronting violent crime in the Fargo area by using newly obtained federal resources and targeted prosecutions.”

Details will be announced Tuesday.

Schneider will be joined by Acting Deputy Assistant Attorney General David Rody and other federal and local law enforcement officials.
