Half marathon runner completes goal of running in all 50 states in Fargo.

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – The finish line for the Fargo Marathon marked achievement for every runner, but for one half-marathon participant that achievement was even sweeter.

Dawn Marshall is a cancer survivor from Newport News, Virginia, and over the last 11 years she has been completing half marathons across the U.S. with the goal of completing a half marathon in all 50 states.

And she completed that goal after finishing the half marathon in Fargo. She said the feeling was amazing.

Marshall said, “It’s just amazing, and I’m overwhelmed, and I’m so so glad that all my friends are here. Some came out here who had been here before and they came to support me so that shows me the love they have for me, and I truly, truly appreciate it.”

Marshall got the idea to start this challenge from her friends in the group Black Girls Run.
