Wrigley: West Fargo-based Epic Companies being monitored, investigated

Drew Wrigley

BISMARCK, N.D. (KVRR-Prairie Public) – North Dakota Attorney General Drew Wrigley says the situation with West Fargo-based Epic Companies is “concerning.”

Epic owns and manages commercial and residential buildings across the region, notably The Lights and Sheyenne Plaza in West Fargo and developments in Fargo, Moorhead, Grand Forks, Perham, Jamestown, and Bismarck.

The company recently laid off a number of employees and contractors owed money by the company say they haven’t been paid.

“It’s obviously a very concerning matter,” Wrigley said. “There’s not always criminal wrongdoing, but if there’s evidence of that, we pursue those investigations. Sometimes, they’re civil in nature.”

“Whatever category it falls under, it’s concerning in nature. It’s being monitored and it’s being evaluated and it’s being investigated.”

Wrigley did not provide details.

Multiple attempts have been made to speak with Epic officials, but Epic has not responded to requests for comment.

Other firms have taken over management of Epic properties. The Norsk Hostfest recently cut ties with the company, and will go ahead under its own management.
