Waterville 063024

ST. PAUL (KVRR/FOX9) — The Biden Administration has approved Minnesota’s request for a Major Disaster Declaration.

It covers 22 counties impacted by flooding.

It provides resources to reimburse communities for debris removal, emergency protective measures as well as repair and replacement of damaged infrastructure.

On Friday, Gov. Tim Walz said officials are still working on responding to ongoing needs before transitioning to damage assessments.

More rain fell in Minnesota on Friday and some rivers continued to rise, causing flooding.

There are currently 20 other counties under review for federal disaster declaration funds.
