Walz Leads Democratic Governors In Call for Meeting Over Biden’s Debate Performance

Walz State 032624

(CNN) —  Some Democratic governors want to meet with the White House to voice concerns about President Joe Biden after his poor debate performance.

Those concerns were aired on a governors-only call Monday, organized by Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

On the call, the governors said they were surprised none of them had heard from Biden himself.

The consensus seemed to be they needed to hear from the president directly.

The governors also talked about possibly having Vice President Kamala Harris address them.

One source said they were reluctant to go public with their concerns fearing it would lead to Biden digging in further.

Plans for the White House meeting are underway but no date has been set.
