Bison football kick-off 2024 Fall Camp

FARGO (KVRR) – The NDSU Bison football program kicked off their 2024 Fall Camp as they prepare for the upcoming season. The Herd is led by new Head Coach Tim Polasek, who has brought new excitement and expectations to the program. With the hot summer sun beating down, and players getting back into the swing of things, Week 1 is just around the corner for these players and coaching staff.

“I would like to run the ball and we want to be the most physical team in the country.” said Coach Polasek.

Coach Polasek has set the expectations on his new team. As the Bison have aspirations of winning a title in Frisco. But before that, they have Fall Camp ahead of them to prepare for the upcoming season.

“Honestly I feel really good about the effort level, the movement. Our transitions from drill to drill need to be much cleaner. We’ve got some new operational people that have been hired. We’ll get on the same page tomorrow so it’s much cleaner and we can anticipate transitional changes. But as far as the kids are concerned. They did everything that we asked of them. We can be a little cleaner as a staff, specifically me.” said Coach Polasek.

All eyes are on the QB room, as this is the final go around for fifth-year quarterback, Cam Miller. He has been a successful QB in the Bison system, but now has the challenge of learning a new one. Miller is looked upon as a leader by the roster, and he knows it is a huge responsibility.

“A lot of people would love to be the starting quarterback here. Just being grateful of that opportunity as I’ve gotten older. It’s kind of bittersweet and it’s sad to know that I only have, 11, 12 games left in my career.” said Miller.

On the defensive side of the ball, Cole Wisniewski was named a pre-season first team all-conference for the Missouri Valley Football Conference. But accolades, especially this early on don’t move him. What his goals are is winning a title with the Bison. While he recovers from foot surgery he had earlier this year, Wisniewski uses this time to still be a part of reps and be there for his teammates.

“If I’m not pouring into guys and really trying to elevate the next generation of NDSU football it’s a knock on what I can do for this program. And I think that’s just as important. Guys did that for me when I was a freshman, they took me in, coached me up. And that’s what I need to do for the next generation as well.” said Wisniewski.

This Thursday is media day for the Bison. And we’ll continue to bring you updates as this team prepares for the upcoming 2024 season.
