MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) —  It’s primary election day across Minnesota and turnout in Moorhead is dismal.

Just under five percent of registered voters had cast ballots in Moorhead and Dilworth as of 4:30 this afternoon according to Clay County Auditor Lori Johnson.

Democrats and Republicans are going to the polls to decide who gets to advance to the general election in November.

In northwestern Minnesota’s 7th Congressional District, Republican Michelle Fischbach is challenged by Steve Boyd of Kensington. Fischbach is endorsed by Donald Trump.

In the U.S. Senate race, Senator Amy Klobuchar is well-positioned to win the Democratic nomination. She’s facing four challengers.
Conservative populist and former NBA player Royce White is facing a more conventional GOP candidate, Navy veteran Joe Fraser.
Perhaps the most-watched Minnesota primary involves “Squad” member, Rep. Ilhan Omar, who is challenged by Minneapolis City Council member Don Samuels.
