Live: Senior Games bring Seasoned Athletes to Fargo
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – While the Olympics may be over in Paris, here in Fargo some seasoned athletes are getting ready to take the field.
The North Dakota Senior Games kick off tomorrow.
The annual event features athletes 50 and up competing in a variety of competitions including pickleball, swimming, a 5K, track and field and golf.
The event draws athletes from around the country to Fargo, and according to Stephanie D’Ambrosia with Fargo Parks, they can get competitive.
“I know all of our athletes look forward to it every year. It’s something that they have a lot of fun doing, seeing people and socializing… These athletes are extremely competitive. So it’s super fun to watch and see how they really get into it, and see who the winners are. They’re really great athletes.”
The games start tomorrow, with winners having the chance to qualify for the National Senior Games being held next summer in Des Moines, Iowa. A full schedule of events can be found on the Fargo Parks website.
