Multiple people dead after crash in construction zone near Duluth

FLOODWOOD, Minn. (KVRR) — The State Patrol is investigating a construction zone crash that left four people, including two girls, dead in northeast Minnesota Wednesday.

While traffic was stopped on Highway 2 about 30 miles west of Duluth, a semi truck slammed into vehicles at highway speeds.

Four other vehicles were involved. The two adults and two nine-year-old kids were all traveling in the same SUV and are all from Blackduck.

Three people, including the semi truck driver, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Three other people involved in the crash were not hurt.

The crash is under investigation.
