FARGO (KVRR-KFGO) – A man is facing charges following an alleged terrorizing incident Monday night in Fargo.

Police responded to the 1800-block of University Drive North around 10 p.m. Monday on a report of an argument. A group of car enthusiasts reported they were disrupted when a former group member arrived and allegedly brandished a weapon.

Witnesses on the scene reported that 19-year-old Carter Hammer had a handgun or a BB gun. Hammer fled the scene before police arrived but he was found while conducting a felony traffic stop.

During questioning, Hammer waived his Miranda Rights and admitted to his actions though he claimed they were in self-defense. However, after further investigation, police determined his actions did not meet the criteria for self-defense.

Hammer was arrested for Terrorizing With A Dangerous Weapon.
