Police arrest aggravated assault suspect following standoff in north Fargo

FARGO (KVRR) – Police arrested a 35-year-old Fargo man for aggravated assault following a six-hour standoff in north Fargo overnight.
Police received a report of a man assaulting two people in a home in the 1000 block of Monte Carlo Drive.
The two adults were able to escape the home before officers arrived. One victim was taken to a local medical facility in a private vehicle; the other victim declined medical treatment.
The victims told police that the suspect, identified as Frankie Manuel Moran, had made threats to shoot officers if they entered the home.
Residents in the neighborhood were asked to shelter in place as officers responded to the incident.
Police repeatedly ordered Moran to exit the home. The Red River Valley SWAT Team was called to the scene. At approximately 5:15 a.m., SWAT officers utilized a chemical irritant to remove Moran from the home and took him into custody without incident.
Moran was arrested for two counts of aggravated assault. He is being held at the Cass County Jail.
