Grand Forks man accused of fleeing, crashing into law enforcement vehicles

(GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR) – A Grand Forks man is facing numerous charges after police say he fled during a pursuit and crashed into two law enforcement vehicles.
Grand Forks police say at approximately 09:51 p.m. Sunday, officers assisted a Trail County Deputy and the North Dakota Highway Patrol in the pursuit of a fleeing motor vehicle.
During the pursuit, police say Shawn Bjerke struck a Grand Forks Sheriffs Department patrol vehicle, causing him to lose control and crash into a Grand Forks Police squad car at the intersection of Cherry St. and 28th Ave S.
Bjerke was transported to the Grand Forks Correctional Center after being treated for minor injuries at Altru Hospital.
Bjerke is charged with reckless endangerment, fleeing in a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license and DUI.
