Man arrested after multiple vehicle thefts in Cass and Ransom Counties

CASSELTON, N.D. (KVRR) — One man is in custody after multiple vehicle thefts in the region.

Craig Vinton, 32, of Fargo was arrested for a series of car thefts in the region, spanning from Casselton to Ransom County.

Early Wednesday, the Sheriff’s Office and Casselton Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire. During the investigation deputies learned that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Fargo, and that a second vehicle had been stolen from a nearby farmstead.

The second vehicle was later recovered in Ransom County, where a third vehicle was reported stolen.

Around 7:30 PM Cass County Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch in rural Davenport. They were able to conclude their investigation, arresting Vinton at the scene.

Vinton is being held in Cass County Jail on a Class B and Class C Felony Theft of Motor Vehicle charges.
