Update: Police investigating homicide in South Fargo

FARGO (KVRR)  – Fargo police, Moorhead police, state troopers and other law enforcement responded to a shooting in the 2200 block of 12th Ave. South.

Fargo police confirmed that one person was shot. The victim was was taken to a hospital by ambulance, where they were later pronounced dead.

The suspect had fled the scene before officers arrived.

The initial call came in around 1:15 p.m. Friday.

Fargo police say the two people involved in the shooting know each other.

The Fargo Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is continuing their investigation.

In a press conference, they confirmed that one suspect has been detained, in the neighborhood of The Arbors.

The victim’s name will be released once next-of-kin have been notified.
