Arby’s AES Foundation Provides Day of Giving in Fargo

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Some Fargo-Moorhead area non-profits will share $120,000, thanks to a donation from Arby’s AES Foundation.

The AES Foundation hosted its Day of Giving, making Fargo the third city to receive this chance to give back to the community.

“We appreciate you guys coming out and spending it with us. I cannot thank you enough you do a phenomenal job. And now you get to see the other side you raise the money and sometimes you get to give a check away, but when you get to actually meet the people it makes a big difference doesn’t it.”

Local organizations that wanted to participate submitted an application online through the AES website.

“And so I thought hey why not it’s a fun cause and we serve an incredible population that I’m really blessed to serve and I applied for it and so we came in thinking that awesome you know we get to send ten kids to camp and we walk away with a surprise thirty,” said Megan McManus, Staff Member with Camp Kace.

Megan McManus volunteers at Kamp KACE in Fargo. The camp is dedicated to giving kids with cancer a chance to be a kid. They attend free of charge.

Various other organizations, including Jessy’s Toybox of Wyndmere, also received a big donation.

“We’re going to put it towards filling our shelves. Right now our shelves are very low. Yesterday we had somebody reach out to us and we purchased $600 worth of toys so this is something..As I was explaining it to my daughter this is $10,000 and we will receive.. We will be able to purchase at $10 a piece a thousand toys. So a thousand kids will get a toy with it,” said Heather Haberman, President of Jessy’s Toybox.

The organizations hope to use their donations to give back to the community.
