Applications Set to Open for The Salvation Army’s Annual Coat Drive

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — While we still enjoying some summer weather, The Salvation Army is working to make sure that kids in our region stay warm once winter rolls around.

The annual Salvation Army Coat Drive will begin taking applications for assistance starting September 3rd, with the deadline to apply on September 27th.

The drive collects gently used coats, snow pants and boots for kids in need, so they can stay warm and enjoy the snow once the weather gets colder.

Tracy Bjerke with The Salvation Army says that anyone who needs help getting winter wear for their kids can apply for assistance.

“A lot of times people are too afraid to ask for assistance, because you think like, I can put food on my table, I can get to work, things like that. We’re here to help everybody, we don’t judge.”

The coat drive runs from September 20th to October 5th, with collection boxes in every Fargo-Moorhead Hornbacher’s.
