Deputy attorney general under Wayne Stenehjem dies

BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO) – The former deputy attorney general under late North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem is dead.

KFGO News first reported in March 2022 that Troy Seibel would be replaced by Attorney General Drew Wrigley.

He was let go after Wrigley discovered that he and Stenehjem’s administrative assistant, Liz Brocker, deleted thousands of emails following Stenehjem’s death in January of 2022 at age 68.

Seibel’s account was deleted two months after he quit.

Wrigley at the time called the move concerning but not illegal.

Wrigley says he was told Monday morning that Seibel had passed away. He had no other details.

Seibel earned his B.A. in political science from University of North Dakota and a J.D. from University of Denver.
