North Dakota Raise For Rescues Fundraiser Returns
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — North Dakota Raise for Rescues is once again raising funds at a time when many rescues are struggling to keep the doors open.
It was started by Central Dakota Humane Society during the pandemic with twenty rescues and shelters across the state.
Fifty percent of the proceeds goes to the shelter of the person’s choosing while the other half will go into a pot to give to the other rescues.
While not all rescues and shelters have signed up for the event it is something that Central Dakota Humane Society hopes to accomplish.
“We know sometimes it’s a lot, people get a lot of information about a lot of events. But they’re all so very important. And it helps us save animals and there’s absolutely no shortage of animals in need. That isn’t stopping so we can’t stop trying to raise funds either,” said Cameo Skager, Communications Director of Central Dakota Humane Society.
“We’re in a really vulnerable place right now, all rescues are. Our entire country is in absolute crisis. There are record numbers of animals being produced and surrendered to and requiring rescue right now,” said Tasha Gorentz, Founding Director of Kritter Krazy Rescue.
The online fundraising eventĀ is going on now until September 15.
