NDSU linebacker dismissed from team following arrest for shooting incident

Jaiden Pickett

FARGO (KVRR) – The North Dakota State University football program announced on Monday that second-year linebacker, Jaiden Pickett, has been dismissed from the team.

This comes after Pickett was arrested for reckless endangerment and terrorizing after a shooting incident early Sunday morning.

The shooting happened in the 1200 block of 11th Street North at 12:55 a.m. Police say an argument happened outside of a house party.

A gunshot was fired into the house. No one was hurt.

Here is a joint statement by NDSU Director of Athletics Matt Larsen and Head Coach Tim Polasek on the decision to dismiss Pickett:

“Being a student-athlete at NDSU is a privilege that comes with an expectation of representing the team and the university in a positive manner while being a responsible member of our community. After learning the facts surrounding Jaiden’s arrest, we have determined that he violated our student-athlete code of conduct and will no longer be a member of the Bison football program. We appreciate the work of the Fargo Police Department on this matter.”
