BATTLE LAKE, Minn. (KVRR-KFGO) – An iconic bar and restaurant in Battle Lake east of Fergus Falls has been lost to fire.

Police Chief Eric Dison says the blaze at Stub’s Dining & Gunpowder Bar was reported at about 9:30 Monday night. He says the roof collapsed and there’s significant interior damage.

At the height of the blaze, Dison says eight first-responder agencies were on the scene. He says fire crews fought the fire until about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The business is closed on Monday’s and had recently reverted to off-season hours. A deputy state fire marshal is investigating.

Stub’s opened in 1969 and changed hands in 1995 when two long-time employees purchased the bar and restaurant. It was sold again about a year ago.
