Hawley’s own Jack Ames commits to UND Football

HAWLEY, Minn. (KVRR) – One of Hawley’s own announced on social media that he is committing to the University of North Dakota football program. Jack Ames, who serves as a captain on the Nuggets, is an important piece of their defense playing the linebacker position.

Ames is set to join the Fighting Hawks in 2025 after he graduates from Hawley High School. Ames says the UND program put a lot of time into him and he feels like Grand Forks will be home to him.

“Super kind to me and they’ve been giving me great coaching tips when I come up there to get work in with them,” said Ames. “It really seems like home to me because they just treat me really well and they always get me better so it seems like a no-brainer.”

Ames is the second Hawley player to commit to a Division I program as Noah Nelson made his decision to play for the North Dakota State University Bison earlier this year.
