“Today I feel so good to receive the citizen because I can go and visit my country. I can have my drivers license, and I can apply for any job that I want to apply for it without any problems.”
“I’m just happy for her and happy for everybody as well here.”
A week ago, Constitution Day also known as Citizenship Day, is the start of many naturalization ceremonies to take place. Just this year, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services welcomed more than 17,000 new citizens across the nation.
“Constitutions do many things but above all they make us citizens and they help to hold together and define the fabric of both states and nations.”
And the judge who administered the oath gave some advice as the closing remark.
“Each of you has overcome many obstacles. As you return to your communities, continue to show your neighbors that our country is better and stronger because you are here.”
These new Americans will receive many opportunities including with a chance to vote in the upcoming election.
